Johnson Field, the open stretch at the head of Mackerel Cove, has been a Bailey Island hangout for generations. Overlooking a classic Maine working harbor, it’s the perfect spot for a picnic or launching a kayak. I set up to paint here, powered by a Lawson’s Sip of Sunshine from the Bailey Island General Store, which definitely kept the oil paint and creativity flowing.
